Plavis C

Plavis C is a conductive grade of polyimide designed for applications requiring electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection, high thermal resistance, and superior mechanical properties. Unlike non-conductive polyimides, it features a surface resistivity of 10²–10³ Ω/sq, which safely dissipates static charges to protect sensitive electronic components.

  • Rapid static charge dissipation
  • Lowest out-gassing of any plastic at 300°C—will not contaminate vacuum chamber processes
  • Retains high tensile strength and modulus even at 260°C (500°F)
  • Easy to machine intricate features without cracking; can be lapped to a mirror finish
  • Stable friction with high PV limit (300,000 psi-fpm unlubricated, 1,000,000 psi-fpm lubricated)
